FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Metal wall decor adds a natural material to a space and is extremely durable. Metal art can outlast its owner, with examples of copper and bronze work still intact after centuries underground. Copper and other metals have inherent material value, which makes them a high-end choice for fine art and home decor.
This artwork is made from solid metal and sheet metal, not faux finishes, metallic paint, printed metal or cast resin composites like cold cast bronze. Some pieces may include a wood backing or internal support for framing, structure or hanging, but the visible surface is real, handworked metal.
Each metal wall art piece ships ready to hang, with hardware mounted on the back and instructions included. Hanging systems vary by artwork and may use a cleat-style mount for a secure, level fit. Standard hardware for drywall and wood is included. Masonry anchors are available on request for brick, concrete or stone surfaces.
Metal wall art requires minimal maintenance. Each piece is sealed with lacquer or Renaissance Wax, so light dusting with a soft, non-abrasive cloth is usually sufficient. For waxed pieces, a thin recoat can be applied to refresh the surface if it needs cleaning.
Do not use cleaning products, chemicals, polishes, water or abrasive pads. These can scratch the surface, strip the wax or damage the patina over time.
Yes, finishes can shift slowly over time. Copper and other metals naturally react to air and moisture, so gradual color changes are expected. Most pieces are sealed to slow this process, so changes happen over many years in typical indoor conditions.
Heat, humidity and moisture can speed up oxidation and patina. Outdoor display will always result in surface change, since wax and clear coats eventually break down with exposure to sun and weather. For the slowest aging, place the piece indoors in a stable, dry environment. Many collectors appreciate this natural evolution of patina, which adds to the surface variation and long-term character of the metal.
